WATERLIN ANNOUNCES GIVEBACK PROGRAMS AND DONATES TO FRONTLINERS
May 12, 2020 (Menomonee Falls, WI) — In an effort to show their appreciation and specifically those working in the smaller medical centers in Menomonee Falls, Waterlin Coffee Bar and Bistro partnered with other Menomonee Falls businesses to give a “cheers” to those frontline workers who deserve it most right now. Alongside their donation, Waterlin announces plans to reopen with two programs designed to give back and support the Menomonee Falls community — Giveback Nights and Thankful Thursdays.
A frontliner donation
Early morning last Friday, Waterlin’s team was masked and gloved up ready to distribute coffee, chocolate and donuts from local businesses to the workers braving the front lines of this virus that has otherwise shut down the community. In partnership with Chocolate Falls and Nino’s Bakery, over 200 cups of coffee, 160 chocolate bars and 120 donuts were donated to the healthcare workers as a way for them to receive appreciation and acknowledgment of what they do on a daily basis during the Safer at Home Order. The focus of the donation efforts was on the smaller clinics and health centers that aren’t normally recognized as much as the larger facilities, so to ensure that no one is missed when enjoying the homegrown goods.
“These people are risking their health and safety for us, and we feel it’s necessary to not only acknowledge that but also find a way to make our local heroes feel valued.” Says Chadd Scott, General Manager of the Delta Hotel in Menomonee Falls where Waterlin is located.
Giveback Nights
The main purpose of the Waterlin Coffee Bar & Bistro has always been and will continue to be supporting and connecting with the community. Currently, with plans to open back up for curbside to-go in the coming weeks, the first thing on their docket was finding unique ways to give back.
Waterlin has pledged to bring back their Giveback Nights, which features a local non-profit group every Saturday and donate a portion of sales to that group. This program will turn their curbside to go into a way to support those groups that could use the extra attention and support. Even further, it is a way to spotlight the variety of non-profits, their missions, and what programs are available within Menomonee Falls.
“Now is the time to show how loyal we are to our community, and ensure the groups who might be struggling have the support they need,” says Heather Stern General Manager of Waterlin, “We want to see the folks in this area thrive and band together amidst these uncertain times, because after all, we’re all in this together.”
Supporting the local heroes
To show their appreciation for all our frontliners and first responders are doing amongst COVID-19, Waterlin will now feature Thankful Thursdays. This offers those in the field the opportunity to come enjoy their food and receive a sweet treat as a thank you to those taking care of our family, friends and Menomonee Falls folks. Amidst these uncertain times, Waterlin has aimed to be an extension of the community and find ways to give back and share the good.
The restaurant will be open for curbside pick-up in the coming weeks and currently has plans to reopen the restaurant with updated safety and sanitary procedures in early June.
